Baggage allowance

Volotea offers the possibility to add more luggage to a reservation up to two and a half hours before your flight departs.

Bags can be added during the booking process, on the Manage your Booking page on volotea.com, on the Volotea mobile app, and while checking-in online or at the airport.

Hand luggage

For reservations made after June 8, 2022, all our customers can bring on board for free a small bag (dimensions 40x30x20 cm, maximum permitted weight 10kg), that must fit under the seat in front of you.

If the booking has been made on our web agencies or through the group platform, a second piece of hand luggage is included which must be a maximum of 55x40x20 and must be checked in at the check-in counter free of charge. If the passenger wishes to carry it onboard, a priority boarding needs to be booked.

Both pieces must not exceed a maximum combined weight of 10 kg.

Passengers who do not have the 2 pieces of hand baggage service included in their booking will not be able to carry the larger bag (55x40x20).

Please Remember that a penalty fee will be applied (per bag and per journey) if you check your hand luggage at the boarding gate and/or if the measurements do not meet those mentioned above.

Checked-in luggage

Each passenger can check in up to five pieces of luggage to a maximum of 50kg per passenger.

It is possible to add to bookings bags weighing 10kg, 20kg or 25kg.

If the passengers exceed the bag weight, they will have to pay an additional €12 for each extra kg they carry, up to a maximum of 32kg per bag.

Special bags

Passengers can check in special baggage such as sports equipment (surfboards or snowboards, windsurf boards, golf bags, bicycles) and musical instruments for 60€ per flight. Weighting up to 32kg per item.

If they exceed this, they will have to pay a €12 supplement for every extra kg.
